Commissioning Engineer
Location: Remote
Position type: Full time employee
Objectives:
The primary responsibility of the Commissioning Engineer (CME) is to perform System Commissioning, and Start-up, as well as Design Package Quality Control. The CME will report to the Department Head of Operations or as directed. The CME will work in conjunction with the other members in the organization in the development and support of projects and products.
The CME shall provide expertise in any or all of the following engineering disciplines; Marine Engineering, HVAC Engineering and Electrical/Automation Engineering.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design Package QA/QC
- Commissioning & System Start-up.
- Parametric Settings
- System Performance Verification
- Deficiency Reporting
- System Trimming and Tuning
- Maintain a current knowledge of marine industry equipment usage, design trends, design standards and rules.
Requirements: “Preferred Qualifications”
- A bachelor’s degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Marine Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering Electrical & Automation Engineering.
- Strong competence in System Operation and Report Writing.
- Ten (10) years of industry or technically related work experience from Ship Owner, Shipyard, Class Society, Machinery Supplier, or Consultancy.
- Proficiency to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and perform multiple tasks with critical concurrent deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Self-motivated in anticipating, identifying, and acting on potential issues and problems
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated high level of accountability, integrity and ethics in the performance of assigned tasks
- proficiency in computer use, including the following software programs:
- MS Office Suite
- Adobe Acrobat
- Travel as required to support field, client or supplier (approx. 85% travel days per year)
- Ability to work in shipyard conditions and construction sites
- B1/B2 Visa Eligibility for entering the US
